Umya jewels are meant to last! However, jewelry are delicate objects.

Here are some tips to care for your new treasure in the best possible way :

The metal will naturally tarnish overtime.
To slower that process : avoid exposing your jewelry to perfumes, oils, lotions or chemicals.
When you don't wear it, store it in a closed box, and keep it far from humidity and open air.

To avoid oil and dirt build-ups, take your jewelry off before you go swimming, sleeping, showering, before you do the dishes, etc.

Clean your jewel with mild soapy water using a toothbrush, and dry it well. You can also use a polishing cloth to bring extra shine back to your piece.

Be careful when cleaning jewelry that have been manually oxidized (like the ones with vegetal imprints or ethnic patterns), as it may remove the dark patina that is meant to highlight the details in the metal. You can perfectly go softly over it with a polishing cloth, however do not apply too much pressure into the reliefs.
